Content websites, as the name implies are informational in their very nature. Since most webmasters create content based websites and monetize them using PPC programmes, it is important that the website is optimised for niches that pay well. Some examples of high paying niches are web hosting, digital cameras, floral services, pet training etc. Obviously there are others and good niches can easily pay upto a dollar per click from the US or UK.

So how do you go about creating a content based website based on a particular niche? First you need to do some research on the niche. For example, if you are building a website on digital cameras, you could do a search on Google, Wikipedia and other sources to identify a sub niche which your site must target. Always remember that if your site cannot solve some need of some ‘real human users’, it can never be successful. Once you do the research you should be able to compile data that will be useful.

Some SEO experts will suggest that the content must contain a 4% or a 5% sprinkling of keywords. We suggest that you do not worry about it. Keep writing naturally - keywords will take care of itself.

Once you have a few pages ready to publish go ahead and publish it. And remember that you need to keep adding new content to satisfy both the search engine bots as well as users who are always looking for new content. Add to this some promotion and you have a project ready to take off.
