“The copywriting world has lost one of its biggest icons” - Michel Fortin

“He single-handedly changed the nature of modern direct response marketing…” - John Carlton

“Gary was one of the greatest marketers ever” - Gary Reese

These were some of the comments posted by various professionals when they came to know about the tragic demise of Gary Halbert. If you visit various blogs like those by Michel Fortin and John carlton, you will realise that the copyrighting industry itself is mourning the loss of an individual who charted the course of direct response marketing as we know it today.

Gary Halbert, born on June 12, 1938 passed away in his sleep during the night of April 8, 2007 at his home. He is survived by his two sons. Gary was always a friend, and a very close one at that, to whoever that knew him personally. For us unfortunate people who never met him personally, he continues to live in his teachings and writings.

Rest in peace, Gary.
