As promised we are back with our next photoshop tutorial. As with the previous one (the Gold text effect), this one is also targetted towards the beginners. This tutorial will help you to add neon glow effect to your text. This tutorial makes use of the stroke property of blending option to create this effect. Try it out and let us know if you liked it.

Open a new photoshop document with black background ( to make glow look more brighter ) and  add the text with blue colour.

Step 1

Rasterize the layer . Now select blending options by right clicking the layer

First set the fill opacity of Blending option default to 25 % , then

Select the bevel and emboss and set the setting highlighted in the picture

Step 2

Select the contour too , select eye catching contour by preview in changes.

Now we have to make the neon glow , for this select stroke property

Step 3

First set the fill type to gradient Now select the gradient type i.e., a bright colour ( 6824e4 ) surrounded by dark colour , this could enhance the neon glow,

Then select the glow style and set it to shape burst ( while changing style check other styles . they too form cool effects ;) )

Apply all the above change . Now your text will be surrounded by neon glow like this in picture , try this for other glow colours also.

Step 4

The neon effect is attained. Let us know if this was easy enough to follow. Your feedback will help us to create more tutorials that are even more useful for you.
