Are you looking to buy text links for your website? Then ensure that you consider the following before you make the purchase.

1. What is the purpose of the purchase? Are you looking to improve PR or increase traffic? Based on it, get the relevant information from the advertiser like PR of the page where the link will be placed, traffic to his site etc.

2. Demographic of the visitors to the advertiser site. If the site in question is a forum then the number of unique visitors will be less. In such situations your link will be more useful for transfer of PR rather than anything else. Read the rest of this entry »

Assess Your Risk Profile Before You Monetize

We have been looking at various options to monetise your website. Google Adsense continues to be the most popular among the webmasters. No doubt Adsense is a very good revenue generator but as a serious entrepreneur, one must take care to ensure that all the eggs are not put in the same basket. We come across so many Adsense publishers getting banned, some of them for no fault of theirs. As a webmaster who looks at his site not just as a hobby, it is important to ensure that his risks are distributed. Other ways to monetise, like CPM advertising, direct advertising, affiliate marketing and text ads must also be explored. Also with the change in Adsense TOS, you can put other contextual ads on the same page as Adsense. Read the rest of this entry »

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you may also be interested in this person, all of 25 years old who goes by the name of Jim Westergren. Jim is a name you would come across regularly if you visit the most frequented SEO/Webmaster forums. He does not duck under aliases and you can find his screen name to be the same as his real name.

Jim’s claim to fame was the second place finish in v7n SEO contest in May, 2006. You can see the results of this contest here. With no black hat techniques used and a number of large companies in the fray a top 10 finish is in itself a matter of great achievement - finishing second and that too a close second is definitely laudable. Offline Marketing - Could this make the difference?

Marketing & Advertising No Comments »

So far, we at www.myContentWebsite.com have concentrated on the different ways you can promote your website on the internet. We have looked at directories, articles, link exchanges, PPC campaigns and a myriad other ways. But these are things most webmasters do, in one way or the other. How can you market your site in a different way?

Our opinion is offline marketing could be the answer. Probably you have been doing offline marketing in one way and that is word of mouth campaigns. Beyond that there are other websites that have been very succesful advertising on the television, newspapers, magazines, billboards etc. Agreed, these are expensive ways and not every ‘information-based’ website can afford them. This is where the marketing savvy webmaster steps in. Learn to look beyond these advertising streams. Read the rest of this entry »

Directory with a difference

Marketing & Advertising, Site/Product Reviews No Comments »

There are so many hundreds of directories out there, all running on the same script and template, that it some times becomes very difficult to remember if we have already submitted to theis directory. Among this uniformity of directory structure and mundane-ness we came across this directory - deeplinks.us.

At first glance it looked like any other general web directory. Then the following caption caught our eye - “NO HOME PAGE LISTINGS will ever be published.” Looking further it dawned that this directory literally means what it is named. There are only deep links allowed in this directory. This directory encourages what other directories do not. Not to sound too dramatic but this directory is venturing into a zone which has so far been neglected. Read the rest of this entry »

Contextual In Content Links

Marketing & Advertising, Site/Product Reviews 2 Comments »

The best search engine technique to increase your link popularity would be by placing links to your site from relevant content. If an article about real estate refers to your real estate website in it, then naturally your site will be considered an expert on reas estate. Building up on this idea, V7 Network has launched the V7N Contextual links program.

As an advertiser (or a webmaster) looking to SEO your site, you may choose to buy links on various websites targetting traffic that are related to your niche. The links to your site will not be placed on link pages or on the sides of the page. In that way, the link becomes valueless. Your links will, in fact, be placed in the content itself.

V7N Contextual has hundreds (and very soon thousands) of bloggers and webmasters in its rank who would be willing to place links to your site. Since the websites are thoroughly reviewed before acceptance, the advertisers can be rest assured that their links are placed only on high quality websites.
